Welcome to my little world! I am a Mandarin teacher with experience more than 7 years. Previously, I was a full-time teacher at The Step by Step School in Pennsylvennia and The Little Panda Mandarin Preschool in North Carolina.
I love teaching Children Mandarin. In my class, I integrate life experiences and use interactive books, rhymes, and songs to enhance kids’ understanding of Mandarin in a fun way.
Currently, I host group story/circle time streamed over Zoom and tutor 1-on-1 Mandarin class. If you’re interested, please contact me via my email: emmalee.mandarin@gmail.com or join my Facebook group. To join my group story/circle time, please use this sign-up form. If parents are interested in knowing what books they can read to children, I also share interesting picture books regularly on this YouTube Channel.

My kids Lucas (8) and Emilia (6) fell in love with Emma when they first joined the trial lesson and since then they always looked forward to their weekly lessons. Teacher Emma is always well prepared, attentive, encouraging and engaging, and it is clear that she takes the time to do her lesson plans and make her own learning aids. She is a great story-teller and always wears the brightest smile. Thank you, Emma, for your hard work and all the joy you have brought my children. I look forward to seeing you again when my twin boys are old enough to learn with Ms. Emma :).

Instructor Lee is knowledgeable, well educated, and tailors each class to fit the needs of her students. Learning Mandarin Chinese was an important step in our education. We have been learning with Instructor Lee for seven years. We are now fluent in Mandarin and knowledgeable about Chinese and Taiwanese culture. As a family, we appreciated our children learning about different cultures and lifestyles. Her teaching combined reading, speaking, and writing into a fun and extensive class. Imagination plays a key role in her out of the box teaching method, which gave us the chance to learn more than a book could ever teach. Her loving attitude towards children encourages them to not only learn and grow but to love learning. She’s attentive, encouraging, and cares about the growth of each student. She fosters a love for learning that is invaluable.

My girls are 5 and 7 when they started learning Mandarin with Emma. Even though I grew up in Taiwan, but we are an English household. My kids know about 10 words in Mandarin and that’s about it. When the kids are home from school due to Covid, I thought it was a perfect opportunity for them to learn Mandarin. Someone recommended Emma in a Facebook group I was in, and that’s how we got started. Emma is very patient and willing to listen and work with us to find the way that works best for our family. As we are all figuring out the world of virtual learning, her willingness to be flexible took a lot of stress off. She incorporates a lot of fun elements into the lessons and is very good at switching up the activities to keep the kids engaged. This is our 3rd month taking classes with Emma and it’s fun to watch how far the kids have come along. My older daughter now thinks learning Mandarin is fun, thank you Emma!.
